Kaisercrafts latest release Q2 is finally here.  We have been fielding calls all week as to when it will be available, well the wait is over, it has arrived and is now out on the shelves and ready for purchase.

There are 6 new ranges out, three of which are Christmas papers – Belle, Dear Santa & Christmas Carnival, a great new boy range called Rewind, a beautiful Lilac set of papers called Lilac Avenue and for those who need travel paper there is a range for you called Pack your Bags.  Along with the papers Kaiser has out done themselves with some lovely new brads which are covered with glitter, material or crystals depending on what range you purchase.  They have also now released their own range of ink pads to match the papers,  these are sold in packs of two and are a very reasonable $4.00, and just to top off your page they have also produced Embellishment packs for each range, these include ribbons, dog tags or flowers, once again depending on which range you decide on, that is if you can decide and don’t end up buying them all.

Just like with Q1, Kaiser have released their new quarterly magazine with lots of  new ideas on how to use all those great new papers and wooden items.  The magazines are $6 each or if you are one of the first 20 customers who spend $50 or more on any Kaiser products we will give you one free.

So ladies hurry in and pick up your selection before it sells out.  It might be a good time to grab some new Christmas papers and get a head start on those Christmas Projects.

Basic Grey have recently started producing a card kit with each new paper line they release.  These kits contain everything you need to make eight (8) unique cards including pattern paper from that range, co-ordinating printed and scored cardstock, rub-ons and chipboard and even envelopes.

If you are unsure where to start, Anne Marie has been holding monthly card making classes using some of these great packs, so why not join in the fun and come along to her next kit class in December. Or if you would like to get ahead – try our full day Christmas Card day in November.

For something different – we will be making a beautiful Card Box in our October class. Check the website for a sneak peak.

This week we have received a great new shipment of papers including  The Spiders Web, Ooh La La and Bloom & Grow by My Minds Eye.  Also Fancy Pants has released a beautiful new orange and yellow collection called Summer Soiree which will be fantastic for all those summer beach and pool photos.  My Minds Eye has also released a new range of bright and colourful rub-on titles,  these are only $2.00 so they are a very reasonable addition to your page.

We now also have in stock a great new range of  stamps from Stamp-It, including a large number of Christmas stamps, just in time for all of you that enjoy making your own Christmas Cards.  These should all be on line or in store in the next few days.  And today we received a fresh supply of Glossy Accents and Flower soft.  Last time these two products were in they just flew out the door.

That’s about it for new stock this week, but don’t forget you can see everything that is new in the ‘What’s New’ section of our website.

Girls Crop In – filling fast

pink-ribbonThe Girls Crop In will have an extra special meaning for us here at MTL this year.  This week we received the said news that our friend and long time customer  Sue had lost her battle with Breast Cancer after a long and very valiant fight.

Last year we raised around $600, this year we would like to at least double that amount.  We would like to raise as much money as possible in Sue’s memory, so we need your help,  there are only 14 places left, and at only $15 it’s a great day out.  Why not get your girlfriends together and come along.  There will be plenty of raffles and games throughout the day and plenty of cakes and cookies to give you a sugar fix, so make sure you bring along all your loose change (don’t worry notes are ok as well) and enjoy the fun.

We hope to see you there.

When:   Sunday 1st November

Where:  Wattle Grove Community Centre (next to Wattle Grove shops).

New Gallery Additions and class sneak peaks

Here it is ladies, the inspiration you have been looking for.  We know it’s been awhile in the making, but we have now updated our Gallery to include all the beautiful new layouts that you see around the shop when you visit.

Galleries are a great place to browse through when you just can’t think of the right way to start a page.  You usually find once you scraplift that first idea the rest of the page just falls into place.  Sometimes you love the page so much you take the whole idea, other times its just a technique or a single idea that jumps off the page at you.  However, you like to use the gallery, we hope you enjoy our new additions and hopefully they will give you some inspiration.

Also we know that some of you like to see what the page looks like when booking into a class on line, so we have now added a sneak peak.  Whilst it is not the whole page we hope that it will provide you with a better idea of what the class is about.

Storage Ideas

spice-ribbonsPreviously I told you about Ikea’s spice racks and how I store my small flowers and buttons in them using the spice jars.  When one of our customers Isabelle read this, she emailed me to let us know that she uses the same spice rack to store all her medium and large rolls of ribbon.  They fit nicely into the rack and you can let the ends dangle down though the gap.  This is a great idea – thanks Isabelle.  Another way to store your ribbons that are on rolls,  is to put up a small piece of curtain rod, I have this resting on two normal curtain rod holders, your ribbons are then easy to see and can be easily pulled off the roll and cut to any length.

If anyone has a good tip for a storage or anything else drop us an email so we can share it with everyone.
