Next week MTL will be running some great Christmas Make and Takes and it doesn’t matter what time you can get into the shop, they will be running non stop all day.

Monday – Make your own Gift Bag

Tuesday – A Christmas tree ornament made out of a styrofoam ball and ribbon

Wednesday – A beautiful Glass etched christmas bauble

There will be a nominal fee involved – $2.00 for Monday and Tuesday and $3.00 for Wednesday – but that will include everything you need to complete these quick and easy projects, there is no need to bring anything with you.

Also a quick reminder that MTL will be closing for the Christmas break on Wednesday 23rd December and not re-opening until Monday 4th January 2010, so it’s also a good opportunity to stock up on anything you may need to scrap during the Christmas break.

11_malina1Congratulations to Malina Blagojevic for winning our November Scrap Challenge.  Malina’s page titled Funny Faces was beautifully done and received rave comments from our customers when they were asked to vote.

Once again Malina congrats and don’t forget to pick up your prize when you are next in the store.

Don’t forget when you are next in the store to pick up our next Scrap Challenge for December/January, this month it’s a pre-packed kit and will cost $10.00.  Since we are closing on 23rd December and that only gives customers three days to vote, this months challenge won’t need to be back until 20th January 2010, lets face it we are all very busy at this time of year but hopefully you can find some spare time over your Christmas break to complete your challenge and get it back to us in early January.

Gift Idea

Last year at Christmas time our Design Team member Kylie gave us all this lovely candle for Christmas and this year I thought I’d share this great idea with you.

You can pick these candles up from house and home style shops for a few dollars, and I did see them at Victorias Basement last week and  they were selling them out for only $2 each, and considering that you could use up your left over Christmas scraps to cover the tin it is a very cost effective present for that someone you don’t know what to get.

The paper is just modge podged on and then Kylie has used a Kaiser star to decorate the top.  Hope this has given you a quick and easy idea.
